Location
Ballymena Raceway
is located within the main arena of the council owned Showground complex
on Warden Street near the town centre.
Layout
The track is a
flat, quarter mile long oval with a tarmac surface surrounded by a concrete
wall.
Facilities
Free parking is
available in the adjacent car park.
Viewing areas include
a 1200 seat covered grandstand overlooking the start / finish straight
or banked terracing around the two bends for those who wish to get a
little closer to the action.
Hot and cold refreshments
are available from the catering vendors. No alcohol is allowed within
the stadium.
Pit access is open
to the general public, although an adult must accompany children.
Photographs of
the drivers, the latest oval racing magazines and souvenirs may be purchased
from John Woolsey’s Track Shop.
Race Dates
Most race meetings
take place on a Friday night (see fixtures section for full listing).
Racing commences at 7:15 p.m. and lasts for approximately 2½
to 3 hours.
Formulae
Non Contact Racing:
National Hot Rods, ORCi Stock Rods, Group Two Lightning
Rods, Junior Rods and Classic Hot-Rods.
Contact Racing:
Formula Two Stock Cars and Saloon Stock Cars.
Admission
Charges
£8 per adult
for normal meetings. Charges may vary for championship meetings. Concessions
are available for children and O.A.P.’s.
