MEETING REVIEW - Friday 20th June '08

Stock-Rods - #25 Flash Gordon wins 3rd Final of 08 Season

Once again the Stock Rods were the stars of the show at the Raceway meeting on June 20. Thrills and spills were the order of the day as the 1400c rods provided ultra competitive racing mixed with some spectacular incidents. Shane Murray and Chris Gordon split the heat wins and the final developed into a shoot-out between the pair with Gordon just holding on for his third final win of the season. Irish Champion Winston Weir recorded a straightforward double victory in the Saloon Stock Cars, while Raymond Dallas earned his first final win of 2008 in the Group Two category. The Junior Rods completed the programme with their victories shared between Anthony McIvor and Glen White.

MEETING REVIEW - Friday 13th June '08

BriSCA F2 Stock-Cars - Gatecrasher Thompy leaves with Trophy

Stock-Rods - #27 Geoff Milligan wins WQR 2 Final

It was a case of back to the future for Ian Thompson Jnr. at Raceway on June 13. The Irish F2 Champion crashed his new RCE car heavily during practice in an accident that also delayed the start of the meeting due to the damage it caused to the pit gate. Well it was Friday the 13th. so we should have expected some kind of drama! Thompson reverted back to his old chassis and powered home to victory in the DmAc Coachworks sponsored meeting final. Geoffrey Milligan romped home for a win in the latest Stock Rod World qualifier while Philip Doherty collected his first final success in the Group Twos. The Junior Rods completed the programme with their victories split between Glenn White and Michael Robinson.
