NATIONAL HOT ROD 2008/2009 DRIVER INFORMATION/RULE AMENDMENTS - 10/08/08 DROPPED SCORES: This system will continue during the 2008/2009 season. (One meeting will be dropped) PENALTY POINTS: The experimental penalty points system (no penalty points for a black cross/no right to protest it), will be adopted permanently. TYRES: The 1 new tyre per meeting rule will continue. LINING UP FOR RACES: When asked to line up for races, you must do so immediately and be at the pit gate when it opens. The pit gate will be closed as soon as the waiting cars are on track. If you are not in the line-up you will miss your race and may not change to another heat. FINALS: If the large entries of cars continues, the final race will be limited to the following numbers: Ipswich - 32 cars You will have to qualify in the heats to make the final grid. NEW ORCi RULE (Effective immediately) Any driver who takes legal action against either the ORCi, or any of it's sub committees (including the NHRPA), or a fellow competitor or a member of their team, will be suspended from racing until the case is resolved. TRANSPONDER POSITION: By 1st September 2008, transponders must be positioned 1.8 metres from the furthest forward point of the car. We would remind you of the importance of giving the transponder a "clear field of view" of the loop, and that this means there should be a hole of at least 15 cms. beneath the transponder, which must be mounted as close to flush with the floor-pan as possible. WARM-UP LAPS: There will be no warm-up laps before a race, unless the steward/NHRPA deem it necessary. CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING FINALS: All drivers must race in the meeting final, including Spedeweekend, if mechanically able. The spectators have paid to see you race. Failure to meet this criteria will result in loss of prize/travel/start money from the meeting and a ban from the next WQ meeting.
